Beer Museum – Stara Zagora

Did the title catch your attention? Don’t worry — it happens to all of us. Beer is a well-loved drink in Bulgaria, especially on hot summer days and nights. With so many fans of this golden brew, it’s no wonder there’s a whole museum dedicated to it.

Here’s one more reason to visit Stara Zagora. The Beer Museum is located right here and is ready to welcome you — mugs in hand. Many tourists who stop by also take the opportunity to explore the city’s most important landmarks. You can easily fit everything into a 2–3 day stay. And if you’re still wondering where to stay, we have a suggestion for one of the best hotels in Stara Zagora, offering excellent accommodation.

This four-star business hotel is located in the heart of the city, within walking distance of the Beer Museum. Each room has a unique design and luxurious atmosphere, exuding style and elegance. Anyone who’s spent the night here will likely tell you it’s the top business hotel in town.

Now, back to the museum! You’ll find it at 41 Khan Asparuh Street. It’s open Friday to Sunday, from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Plan for a visit of around 1 hour and 30 minutes, and note that reservations are required. Each tour allows a maximum of 15 people. The entrance fee is 8 BGN for adults, and 6 BGN for visitors aged 13 to 18.

This is the only museum of its kind in Bulgaria, showcasing authentic artifacts that trace the history of beer production in the country. One of the standout pieces is a beer bottle from 1902. You’ll also find around 15 different types of beer glasses on display.
